Every October, the coastal city of Newport, Rhode Island, becomes a mecca for luxury connoisseurs, blending the charm of autumn’s brisk air with a celebration of timeless craftsmanship. This year, the Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week returned with its signature four-day event, marking the transition from summer’s warmth to fall’s invigorating chill. For Meridian Jewelers, it was a true honor to be represented by Skylyr, our A. Lange & Söhne (ALS) boutique manager, who had the privilege of attending this unforgettable celebration of heritage and elegance.
2024 marked A. Lange & Söhne’s second year as the presenting sponsor of the Audrain Newport Concours d’Elegance, the week’s grand finale. This pinnacle event, held on October 6th, showcased a remarkable collection of over 180 vintage cars, captivating guests with rare automotive craftsmanship against the dramatic backdrop of The Breakers. This national historic landmark, once the summer estate of the Vanderbilts, offers sweeping ocean views along Newport’s renowned Cliff Walk, setting the stage for a display of vintage cars and an exclusive selection of A. Lange & Söhne timepieces.
One of the weekend’s more whimsical highlights was the appearance of Timmy the Tortoise, a charming guest who wandered through the grounds, bringing smiles to attendees. This unexpected sighting was a reminder of the timelessness shared by both automotive and horological craftsmanship: just as Timmy has endured, so too do the treasures of vintage cars and luxury timepieces.
Skylyr’s presence at the Audrain was a testament to Meridian Jewelers’ commitment to excellence, and we’re thrilled to bring a taste of this experience back to our Aspen showroom. The extraordinary cars, the beautiful autumn setting, and the artistry of A. Lange & Söhne timepieces all served as a celebration of heritage and meticulous craft—values Meridian Jewelers is proud to uphold every day.
